Nineteenth century tracing derived from Guillaume de L'Isle's Carte de la Louisiane et du Mississipi (Paris, 1718). Covers region roughly bounded by the Rio Grande, the Missouri River, Lake Huron, eastern Florida, and the mouth of the Rio Grande, but most detailed in the Mississippi River valley and the Gulf Coast. Unlike L'Isle's map, the tracing shows routes traveled by Louis Juchereau de St. Denis during both his expeditions to Texas between 1714-1719. See Jackson, Jack.
